The purpose of our critical mass is to communicate, safely, to all motorists in our neighborhood that they are in a neighborhood, and speeding through it is not welcome. We gather as many neighbors as we can, on bicycles or walking and even walking with baby strollers. Join the ride as it moves up and down San Pedro St. or find us on one of the side streets. All rules of the road that pertain to cyclists apply. Please consider wearing a helmet even if you are over 18.

Join your neighbors for the annual summer barbecue! The Neighborhood Association will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixings; please bring a dish to share.

There will also a Chili Cookoff at noon, with a prize for the winner.

The main event of the Vendome calendar! Thanks to a grant from the City of San Jose, this year's barbecue will be better than ever. Our Barbecue Committee is hard at work, and more details will be coming soon — here and in flier form.

This Dumpster day is organized by the City of San Jose. The City sent out postcards to all addresses within our neighborhood in late July. You must present this postcard in order to use the bin. If you did not receive a postcard and want one, please contact Vince Tovar with the City at 277-8435.

Note that the bin address given on the postcard for our neighborhood was incorrect: the correct address is 495 North San Pedro (not 49, which wouldn't be in our neighborhood).
